Mountain King Decomposer is the king for this IMO, makes very unique dying pedal sounds and awesome full on fuzz. I wish I still had mine. I was surprised at how simple the circuit was when I looked at it. Wish they weren't so expensive though. A lot of times playing with the voltage lowered way down to get that splattery effect is frustrating, the Decomposer never felt like that when it was on full splat, it reacted very awesomely to playing, one of the most touch sensitive fuzzes I've ever used.
Mountain King Ruckus is good at this too, but more of an overdrive and not as interesting to play with. Good solid grimy overdrive though.
Durham Crazy Horse is great.
Functionfx Cluster Fuzz.
JHS Crayon sounds awesome for the broken console sound.
The Stomping Stones Virus is one fuzz I've kept because how much I like it, but it doesn't really sound so much of a dying pedal as much as just a weirdo something is wrong with it fuzz (bias doesn't make it splatter like whats typical with those controls, it puts a weird hissy/squeal thing in there).
Blackouteffectors Fix'd Fuzz.

1. Yes, Uncle Tom makes a bunch of awesome stuff that does this very thing. He also make cools sweatshirts (I have 3 of them in different colors).
2. I love Noisereap stuff and had no idea this was a thing. Thanks for posting!

Agreeing and disagreeing at the same time. The HEQ-1 does something... it's kind of it's own thing though. Broken but not dying? Fair enough? I'm with you, would not vibe for the OP.

Yeah, there is this thing too:

What i think would be awesome would be an expression pedal type that could vary the voltage going to a pedal. Easier to adjust on the fly that way, but not sure if this exists?

Algal Bloom with the choke function is the answer.

The LAL Lluna is great for these kinds of sounds.

This is good for rage destruction. I dunno if it sounds dying tubey though, because it's always brutal.
But it is definitely a never-sell-pedal for me. Dig it.

+1 for Durham Crazy Horse and EHX Germanium OD. An octavia at low gain settings is good at this too.
Look at this cute Algal Blossom:

I found an Asstone via Etsy for peanuts 3 years ago and am not sure if the builder still makes them. It can produce full-on asswave clipping at max gain via foldback distortion and obliterate whatever passes through to varying degrees starting with lower gain settings sounding more like a round and gated Muff texture with flat mids. Input signal level adjustments (like increasing/decreasing guitar pickup volume) can also allow one to span the full gamut of grind if the gain knob is in its upper range.
