A chorus pedal does what he wants, if I understand correctly: offsets the time slightly and can create the impression of a doubled track. Some Boss chorus pedals have a Dry Out, and he can turn depth on the 'wet signal out' way down to minimize the chorus effect.

(Update: Boss CEB-3 has stereo outputs, and an Effect Level knob, which he can turn almost all the way down. Output B may be dry? Check the manual. Only issue - it's mono in. Maybe that's his new amp splitter?)

So, if he wants dry to one amp, and delay to the other, why does it need to be stereo in? I’m assuming he just wants to delay one amp a fraction of a second to enhance the illusion of two guitars? So why not just put a mono delay after the a/b/y on the line going to the amp he wants to delay? As far as delay that allows only wet with the dry signal dialed out, I’m not sure. I think the dd-7 might, but I don’t know for sure. I do know that the dd-7 sums the dry signal to mono, so there’s problems there. But if you want (for someinsane reason) to delay both amps with no dry signal, then just find a mono delay that will do it and put it before the splitter. If you only want to do it to one, then put it after the splitter, but just on the one amp. You’re not really using it as a normal delay, so the idea of wanting reverb after delay doesn’t really apply.

I'd assume because there are stereo effects upstream in the pal's chain.

Playing with a small setup including the BitQuest the other day (soooo late on that train) I found the delay works great for that thing. As usual I used an Ibanez 10-series (chorus) as a stereo split, then on the BitQuest side set the delay full wet, no repeats and just a hair above minimum delay. Perfect fake double-tracking. Turn on the modulation and you got a sick chorus too.
