sorry for the hijack, but on the topic of drone, does anyone have experience with the philosopher's tone compressor? I've heard it has sustain that can last several minutes? I don't know of anything else that can do that, with the exception of the fernandez pickup or the ebow (just one note). I'd like to sustain some clean chords. :poke:

Not sure how long they sustain for but the demos I've seen sound great and they get good reviews.

LOL @ people who use the term fascist with no apparent understanding of what it means.

Not that I want to get into this... but, and I mean this, less took the words right out of my mouth when he said "YAWN"!

Then again, I paid 60 bucks for a fucking White Noise Generator, so what do I know?

I thought the price was quite reasonable especially when you consider the amount of control/options you're getting. The panel is deceptively simple but all of the knobs are push/pull. That equal more tonez! Heres the control scheme...

IDK. i really don't want to be a hypocrite becuz i know at one time i did consider buying it and it was on my gearwishlist, et cetera. & i know i wouldn't mind having one. i'm not hating on the price. i don't even really know what it is fully capable of.

i know what i said earlier may have come off snarky and i apologize for that. i appreciate ILF & this is literally like the ONLY guitar forum i am ABLE to post on. LOL. it is literally like the ONLY forum i can post on period.

He does not keep any in stock. But, if you want a sorta modular sound without spending $1500, this is the way to go. He customizes the unit to the exact way that you want it.

Check out the video where someone runs the Drone Commander though a gristleizer:

I don't suppose this could be rigged up with midi to control it with a keyboard or sequencer? :bob:

I ordered one Friday and it'll arrive on Monday! Its black with silver knobs and text (I think). Will update with pics and hopefully (if I can acquire a camera) video demos. So excited.

Unfortunately my POS camera died before I could take a close up pic. But heres the Drone Commander with its new family.

This thing is an absolute beast. Built like a tank (and housed in an ammo case). Really big beefy analog sound. From lush dreamy drone sequences to nightmarish dissonance there's an infinite number of sounds to be discovered. Sounds beautiful dry. Quite clippy (in a good way). When used with a touch of delay and a nice big reverb the Drone Commander truly shines. Incredibly inspiring piece of equipment. I can't wait to start recording.

Clips to come!
