I'm on the Small Clone train as well. I've tried lots of other boutique/fancy choruses and they all make me kinda irritable. The Small Clone is just pleasant and beautiful. One of my longest-owned pedals (6 months!) and one of my favorites... but I pretty much hate chorus otherwise.

You had the Somersault right? What was it you didn't like about that one? I love the Caroline pedals, so I feel like I REEALLLY want to like that one.

Can I just take some LSD?

LSD is overrated plus it'd be nice to not have my loved ones have to pull me out of the middle of the street because I'm fixated on the colors of the traffic lights

Anyhoo Rainbow machine is pretty pretty good plus I always recommend the detune setting on the Boss PS-3.

Fixed +/- stereo detune is like chorus for chorus haters. Widens the sound without sounding wobbly.

I love it when others do chorus. When I do it it sounds flat. I do have an amazing pitch pirate made by Faldoe that has random pitch shifting. It does chorus and random chorus is something I freakin love and have on often.

Most people hate chorus, but in stereo everybody loves it! This is an actual certainty. You can get boatloads of cheap stereo chorus pedals for less than anything off the rack, as long as you're willing to deal with finicky PSUs (a small price to pay for depth of field, though).

Also, stereo rigs are always more appealing, whatever you play through 'em, & that's a

But more importantly, I always see these types of threads like advice columns: people asking for permission to do something (eat gefilte fish in bed, date someone outside of their age group, be a Raiders fan, etc.)...

I get where you're coming from here. I guess I'm thinking of it more as an opportunity to drop my bias, widen my perspective and research the options that others put forward. Trying to grow, y'know?

Thanks for the response!

What would be some good examples I can check out?

See, maybe that's part of my issue. I've never gotten into stereo as far as effect go. I guess I'm often looking a board of pedals, some with stereo and some without and just not even sure where to start with even setting it up appropriately. Also, I only have one decent amp...so there's that.

I didn't like the predelay on it. in order to get a deeper chorus like the small clone does I had to push the predelay back which was pretty noticeable and it irritated me. I also HATE vibrato so the usable range on the Somersault just wasn't big enough to justify $200 in my book. Won't lie... got it because rainbows and lilac. It's a great pedal for some people but I didn't like it at all.
