Hello guys, thanks to everyone who posted comments in this thread. The payoff: I scraped the Harmony-central database and sent the results to Janelle at aiweirdness.com, who used them to train a neural network to generate new names. (Or 'pedal concepts', if we're being generous.) The results range from slightly off-kilter -- I'm very taken with the K S Aji Seaslug Chorus, which Janelle has illustrated -- to downright weird.
