I think I briefly talked about this on my podcast episode with 100101011one10101, that I learned economics largely by applying the concepts to the used gear market. And it keeps proving to be more or less the only useful place for it.

This fuckhead, is essentially acting like a value maximizing homo economicus, and as long as he can do it, he will do it. There was a product valued at $250, and he sells it for $600m, and so he created $350 for himself. In theory, since the fucking thing is in stock still, he could use those $350 to buy another, make a $100 and repeat the process. Put this plainly, we do understand this is wrong. If people are buying this pedal for $600 I'd much rather see that money in the hands of our ol pal Aen, who spent time and effort into making the pedal, who all of us realize is the person who created the $350 surplus value for mr.fuckhead flipitalist here.

I really want to keep writing and deliver a socialist critique but I also really have to get back to work

The shameless flippers go "well that's capitalism" and I'm like "yeah dude it sucks" lol. But it makes me feel better to follow the pedals with hype on reverb for the rare times when production catches up to demand and flippers are left holding the bag. I like when the worst of the flippers then price their less-than-new pedal for the same as buying direct, tack on $20 shipping, and sit on it for months. They would rather lose a couple hundred dollars or so holding on to a pedal they have no intention of ever using than lose like $50 on a sale. Speaking of which, the number of unplayed 1981 DRVs on the market seems to be going up lol

Those ECT aren't still in stock. They sold out within a couple days...which brings the question, they only got posted like 5 days ago. How did he get it so fast?

Dwarfcrafts stuff doesn't have a high flip value to begin with, which actually makes me sad because their stuff rules. This guy is a fucking moron if anything. He bought this pedal thinking some dumb ass will buy it. I'm wagering that's going to be a negative. I have a one of a fucking kind Dwarfcraft pedal on Reverb right now (probably going to pull it because I don't care about selling right now) and I've had almost no bites. Sooooooooo he should have followed the hype train just a hair closer.
