It seems cool. Rack gear feels like such a hassle unless you devote yourself to more rack gear.

I used to have an LP1: it's a wonderful unit! This and the EDP are still the holy grail of live looping.
Such a shame commercial companies still have to learn A LOT from these machines...
Btw the Hedadrush looks cool feature-wise, but it's just TOO BIG, it's a huge unit...

Nothing really beats the EDP for looping that I'v e tried. That and the PCM42 are bliss IMO.
I just wish we could get thee PCM and EDP in pedal form.

I've heard the EDP has fidelity and noise issues.

Not with the Loop IV mod.
Could it be better? Sure but that's why we need something new with today's technology.

The LP1 Gen B is supposed to be pretty good and now saves loops in memory.

I don't really think that it's all that noisy. Its preamp is designed with a
lot of gain, so it can be used with a mic, as well as an instrument. This can lead to improper gain staging across a system.
It does have an oddball sample rate of 41 kHz, so it's bandwidth isn't quite CD quality.
I don't think it has been surpassed as far as looping features go. There have been a lot of cool "stunt looper" pedals in recent year that do some unique things (e.g. Montreal Assembly, Hexe, Drolo, et al), but as a general purpose looping platform, I think that the EDP still has a lot to offer.

How you can put out a product with such problems?
I mean, some of this features like to stop recording halfway are so basic even the old RC-1had them.
