:idk: You really just have to find the right fuzz to stick before the wah & you'll be all set. :D :snax:

I love wah. I never use it in a blooz context. With fuzz and especially with ring mod it's great for textural stuff. There's a coupla' spots in the treadle before ring mod where you get some incredible tones.

Edit: Oh yeah, my favorite wahs are the Wilson stuff including the mini (you can get just about anything you want with his stuff), the Xotic (also highly tweakable) and a vintage Colorsound.

How is that wah still available... after shipping, you're only paying like 15-18 dollars for a wah.

The Weeping Demon is pretty good, but I bought mine cheap - like $50 including shipping. (There was a small glut of them at one point, and I was there...) I am not very discerning about wahs though.

I pull my Vox Clyde McCoy out whenever I need some nasty fixed midrange chicanery.

But I won't lie, sometimes it's for this:

I think you just convinced me to keep it, to build something else into. Those enclosures are like $45.

Cantrell wah is killer.

I thought the Wilson was decent. Nice. you know. But not killer.

Had the RMC Wizard for a few years. It was great for weird sweeps and I A O chants. If I were to get a wah again, I'd probably look at the Wilson Freaker.

Which Wilson did you have? Just curious.

I have a bass crybaby that i like alot but its fucked up in the treadle and barely useable. I had a cheap vox too but I only liked it cocked to get feedback and that it interacted with oscillating fuzz.

out of everything i've heard in the last 40+ years i like the Cantrell wah a whole lot.

if i had been rolling in money, at the Acid Mothers Temple show the other night (which i regrettably had to bail on early cos my back was fucked up) they had Kawabata's 2018-tour Vox wah for sale @ $200 with autographed case. so if you're a freak, go see AMT and maybe you can get it.

Vocal wahs are definitely my favorites. That one is pretty affordable.

Switchless all the way for me. I like Morleys a lot. The Ibanez Weeping Demon is insane and super versatile, and cheap. Unfortunately its huge and ugly (prolly why its cheap). I use a Morley Maverick Mini. Switchless and pedalboard friendly. The sweep of the full size Morleys feels better though.

I had a few years ago, crybaby, colorsound, mini AMT thing. Always felt the sound wasn't quite right. But I was more tone chasey in those days.

Recently got the wah urge again so I bought a cheap cgb90 with the intent to mod it if I didn't like it but honestly it's just... Perfectly good already.

Since I got it I'm using it a lot in my band and I'm super happy with it.

May have to see if I can score a Cantrell then, don't want to head too far down the wah-bbit hole as I might use it twice and then consign it to history!

I got a good deal on a Wilson Freaker wah so that'll be coming in sometime next week. Never really got into wahs before because they just seemed like a bunch of goofy funky town nonsense but I'm really looking forward to trying this one out. Slow filter sweeps all over the place.
