Tym Pedals also makes the Tymexar mini (I think that's what it's called) which is an updated killer version of the Distortion +.
I have the Bob Mould version but it's the same thing and the Tymexar is usually cheaper used.

Buzzaround into a vintage one both intrigues me and would solve a second problem.

Color me intrigued as well. I often run fuzzes into OD's to tame volume and do some mild EQing.
What in particular about those two circuits compliments each other?
