I went into the store ready to by an el capistan, tried a few pedals to make sure and went home with the disaster transport. For what I need, it just sounded better. I have a dmm for when I need that analog goodness, but honestly, for live use, the DT gets me pretty close to that and has foot switchable modulation.
:thumb: still use mine years later as well. It's been swapped out occasionally, but I always go back to it. Simple, effective, and just sounds good.
I don't remember who, but someone makes a diy kit version, now that they are discontinued.

DIY Disaster Jr: https://www.pedalpcb.com/product/cataclysm/

Never tried one but might some day build this, or the Ghost Echo clone, to compare/run in parallel with my OG.
