What distinguishes the 'Triangle' Muff (besides the knob arrangement)?
Different transistors, slightly different component values compared to an NYC.penelope tree wrote:What distinguishes the 'Triangle' Muff (besides the knob arrangement)?
Thanks for responding, KitraeKitrae wrote:I think they did a very good job with it.Chankgeez wrote:Waitin' to hear what Kit Rae thinks.

There's a more doomy sounding perf board triangle I have that I would have liked it to sound a bit more like, but the sound they went with is very close to the more common triangle circuit variant - if there is such a thing.
Yeah, thanks, definitely a solid endorsement!agiant wrote:

I gather you don't work in a marketing department.Chankgeez wrote:Doubtful?crochambeau wrote:Will they spit out a PNP version?
No idea. There's always a "gotta collect 'em all" squad, and then weirdos like me who would just be morbidly curious.Chankgeez wrote:Do you think they'd sell a lot of the PNP version?
Yeah, but there's someone out there that'll insist negative voltage is the secret to great tone from a Big Muff.Kitrae wrote:If the rest of the transistor specs the same, makes no difference to the sound of a Big Muff which is used. PNP vs NPN is just a mode/current polarity difference.
I mean, what would you do if a bunch of companies started making a bunch of money building copies of the older designs for one of your pedals?crochambeau wrote:Honestly, I like the big muff, but it really seems like they are milking the everloving shit out of it.
