If you want nice and affordable, you can do worse than a Red Knob Fender Twin. I gigged with one for years and could never get it to break up (which suited me just fine). Louder than God's sneeze, a bit bloody heavy, but absolutely brilliant as a clean platform. They're not exactly 'desirable' or even really that good to look at, but they're amazing at what they do and can be had pretty cheaply.

Lower the output on the fuzz. Boost mids. You’ll cut through the mix like a chainsaw

Brian sours is certainly the right guy to take it to. I'm mostly into a pretty saturated dirt sound, so I might not be able to help much, but I've never really had this problem. Seems like a lighter dirt sound is possible. I wish you luck and believe there's a solution out there. I love marshalls, but if you decide to look for a different amp, I think a good high headroom option that can be found sometimes pretty cheap is the late 70's(I think) silverface bassman 135. They're loud as fuck and take pedals pretty well.

For low-tuned, bari, or bass playing most fuzzes, I would consider adding a bass roll-off on the guitar, ala G&L. Great rundown and explanation here: http://tonefiend.com/guitar/two-band-pt ... p-awesome/

+1 on the perc. Wasted years trying various flavor of the month ODs- wish I’d started with the Perc (or stayed with a treble booster). Dude Incredible is, well, incredible (dude), also check out Fredric’s Percs.

As far as affordable 100 watters, if you find one local (or find someone willing to ship) a vt-22 can take all the pedal you’ve got (and then some). Ceiling-less. Or a v-4 head tho they cost more (probably because of the weight- the vt-22s are beasts). On the plus side, you can quit your gym membership lugging it around. Traynor YGL-3 is 4xel34 and also get-evicted loud and break-your-balls heavy.

As someone who demanded to find an amp that broke up on its own while still having good headroom for fuzz, I ended up liking hiwatt (clones, I ain't rich) a whole lot. So...y'know...try one sometime. I ran through so many amps trying to find The One. Had plexis, a 2204 clone, a friedman modded JCM800, two 5150s, betas, VTM120s and Butchers, and so on, and so forth. Turns out I was looking for a hiwatt. Using a 2 input clone rn, also had a DR103 clone I dug.

Buuuut as far as finding a fuzz that works with a JCMy marshally thing well...I never found one. This is definitely just my personal opinion obviously, but Marshalls always sounded better with drives and boosts than fuzz. It is what it is. If you want some headroom, try a fender PA135 maybe, or honestly a Uberschall's clean channel is really unusually clean. Or a jc120. But hunting a fuzz that works best is a lot cheaper than a new amp. So...yeah, I dunno. I'm rambling.

For what it's worth, I'm currently mostly using BAT revelation, which I guess is maybe more of a drive than a fuzz, so perhaps I don't have room to talk. Although I also use a tall font sovtek muff, currently stacked with a bone shaker in front for some EQ help.

I solved my problems with a higher headroom amp. I thank all those years of listening to Sonic Youth! I walked into a local store and saw a Peavey Road Master (6x6L6's) and grabbed it for $300. Thurston Moore used them and I can't believe how great it works with fuzz. I stack fuzz into low gain pedals mostly... and a little bit of echo for noisy leads etc...it does the job. Built like a tank as well-stoked!
