I have one. Seems like a dpdt relay and a 555 timer lfo would be pretty similar.
There are schems out there for a triggered relay switch that's like 5 parts...use a copilot broadcast to switch.

Something similar to this subject was discussed here:

Wherein I suggest using two Toadworks Enveloopes (like so
https://soundcloud.com/charles-b-gillet ... es/s-8cuNb). However, reasonably-priced Enveloopes are not to be found. You could get yourself a two-Enveloope setup via Reverb right now for the low low price of $800.
