When the prototype is finished, the first thing that will happen is multiple demos. The picture you see is a digital file of the design.

It costs a lot to make and also takes a lot of time. This is perhaps the only product in the world that involves the reclaimation and full refurbishment of vintage mechanical aspects. Maybe i'm wrong about that, but either way it takes a lot more work than most things. For your better understanding, below is a picture of the section reclaimed and rebuilt. This is what allows us to do things other than just delay.. all of the tape machine functions.

Prototyping is hitting the machines very soon. That phase determines everything.
I am going to announce some pre orders soon as well. That will be announced via the email list primarily, but also through a few forums such as this one. Most likely around end of this week. But I'm making it not diehard concert ticket style like the TE-1's but rather letting orders happen in a more gradual fashion. This should be better overall. And there will be some other openings going forward. It is being segmented up so that more people have a chance.
