You'd have to adjust it on the line out from the attenuator - mine has a few treble boost options built in and you can run that signal into whatever you want. The only caveat I have is that you may want an in-line pad for signal level coming out of it depending on the preamp at the board or any processors you want it to hit as it tends to be on the hot side.

This is actually one thing (among others) i specifically got the Tetanus Booster for, though not for using with a guitar DI signal. I am planning to use it to boost signals with piezo mics, field recordings, and some tabletop stuff. Don't have it yet to give feedback about it. When i do i will try to remember to post in this thread about it in the future.

Is it basically a parallel chain you want? You could use something like the Neve RNDI (they've just released a stereo version of it actually). Thru jack goes to amp, xlr to preamp/eq/Broadcast/desk. The RNDI can supposedly be driven into slight transformer saturation. Also you could run the speaker out of your amp into the RNDI, tap the xlr and add effects, and again run the thru to the cab. Otherwise there's stuff like the A-Designs REDDI and the ZOD Audio ID DI, both of which are tube DI's and twice as expensive as the RNDI.
