I think the concept of a consensus opinion of the perfect demo format is impossible. With a creative format as open and expansive as sound processing it's going to be be near impossible to please everyone.

Having 3 demos with different approaches with some overlap could be the best approach. Something like excane (more heavy, bass/guitar) + pgs Andy/Bergs (good standard rock with some punk gems) + UC/UG (more experimental) is probably the best way for a builder to really give a good informed idea of what their pedal is offering. There is just too many viewpoints to really cover something that pleases every one with every video...I guess it's about knowing that no matter what the demo will have haters.

Anyone who plays CHORDS... before "sweet lead tones".
Especially for fuzz.

You can probably get a feeling of my preferences per these suggestions...

The Gold Standard (that should not be standard): (The one and only) JEXUS -> These are synth 'demos'. I would argue these transcend 'demos' and become a performance / video art.
CASE STUDY of a synth Demi-God (this video makes me uneasy):

Other Favorites:
Contriviad
Ugly Casanova
iRerror - Eivind's specialty oscillating fuzz demos. You know what you're getting into and you get to see the nuances of a very specific thing. It's just so enjoyable

Other "Other" Favorites:
Pedal & Effects - This is more like a good show than a source for finding gear. I actually haven't watched it in a while but I used to enjoy the running jokes and exaggerated enthusiasm.
Remember that one episode where Nick and the guest say it's 'Pedals & Effects" and Juan goes "FUCK YEAH"?
Skip to the :29 second mark.

So much this. I want to hear chords, power chords and the like as much as or more than the speed solo'ing it devolves into.

I like The Pedal Zone guy.
And the new collector//emitter is real nice...like the music he plays w his demos.

Which's why I made my suggestions based on who I thought'd best be able to demo Arcane's pedals. :idk:

burgs
pinstripedclips
I am not sure if Phillip does them "commercially" or if he just does them for David, Steve, etc.

I also thought blackholeproductions // retrotonejunkie might be someone to ask.

(That's a good point.) I don't think Philip does, but it might not hurt to ask.

Also, Philip doesn't have as many subscribers as some demo dudes. Ability to reach a wide audience may also factor into your consideration.

Actually, I don't really care about a million subscribers. I just want some killer clips and fun demos. I barely have time to build and certainly no time to make quality demos. It would be nice to be able to point a player along to a demo when they ask for one.

Looking at contacting MrExcane as well. I dig his stuff too.

We really do. He was the best. We can repurpose your 'Big Boy Poly Synth Thread'

@arcane - With Eivind you'll get a cool demo and you know you'll get your pedal back as he hates possessions (I'm his unofficial biographer).

I kind of wish I made demos but I know they would just turn into feature films and have very little to do with the pedal functionality. It would be like if Chekov made a demo.
