It's fucking dumb and lacks substance. That's how.
I'll give the full reason I don't enjoy or care for this kind of tripe.
1. It's spammy bullshit and they do not contribute here in any other fashion than spamming us. That's obnoxious and in the past we have not tolerated it, so why would we now?
2. The jokes (if you can call them that) are not funny in any way, shape or form. The whole shtick of this type of comedy appears to be based on a guy acting like he's a fucking moron. It was funny in the first couple of videos, but beyond that I don't see why anyone would laugh. It's dumb. I don't like dumb shit.
3. The band it terrible. Even if the music wasn't trying so hard to be entertaining, it would be bad.
I saw some of the NAMM coverage and I thought it was terrible. I like comedy, I like jokes, but they have to be funny. I don't think a middle aged dude acting like he's an imbecile is funny. It's like a dick and fart joke. They are funny sometimes, but more often than not they are just obnoxious.
These guys probably aren't bad dudes. I just think the shit is stupid and trollish.

Thank you for your detailed response. I see you feel the band is terrible. Can you give me detailed reasons why and how they're terrible? Like point out a good band or a good song and then explain why Shy Boyz music is worse than that? Just for frame of reference. Also any pointers on songwriting and performance would be helpful too. Thank you for your feedback

^^^ I don't like to pile on, but this is quite possibly the most inane response I have ever seen on ILF.
Edit: just to be clear, I'm talking about ArenaCorner's response.

jwar, I don't disagree with you with you, but before passing judgement on someone's behavior, it is often helpful to examine where that person is from to see what cultural influences or environmental norms etc might have contributed to the person they are today. The whole nature vs. nurture thing. These guys are from Philadelphia; a city whose cultural identity revolves around sweatpants, "lager", and punching police horses. So yeah.

Apparently they aren't cursed with objectivity, either.

Also, why would this have been more relevant or cool 20 years ago? 1998? Was that a pinnacle of PFuNk output?

**BEHIND THE GEAR**I def prefer jittery jump-cuts than
**BEHIND THE GEAR** every couple of sentences being bookended by jingles/bumpers

I think you have a bright future as a telemarketer and help prove my theory that pedals will be as 80's rack gear was in the late 90s within 2 years because of your journalistic and artistic endeavors

Whoa, whoa, whoa. Only the part about punching police horses actually relates to Philly's cultural identity. Sweatpants is for sure New Jersey, and probably cheesesteaks should have been on your list. That's all.

Cheesesteaks are important.
Jersey here. Sweatpants were never my thing but I'm part of that breed that sleeps and skis in their jeans.
People in North East Philly (the Neast) love wearing sweatpants and getting each other pregnant.

“Philadelphia is the highest ranking when it comes to the mean number of sweats and sweat items that are purchased each year,” John Fetto, a researcher for Experian, told CBS News.
