Ha well, that was more unbridled meh than I was expecting.
I'll be doing a demo for it in a couple weeks.
Then we'll see who's meh.

Clearly we are trying to talk ourselves out of wanting it

To me it looks like something that I can see would be capable of making tons of amazing sounds, but it's not in any way inspiring because of the time to hook everything up. Plus it costs as much as a cheap amp or guitar.

I'm a "turn it on and it sounds awesome" pedal person really. A few years ago I would have been all over a slightly smaller cheaper version of this but I've come to know what I like.
I'll be interested to hear what other people do with it though!

$350?

As a rule, I never trust Kickstarter campaigns.
When it becomes an actual product I can buy without waiting a year for "production setbacks" to push release back another year, I'll consider considering to buy one.

Oh right I finally understand it's a matrix mixer as well as the filtered fx loop thing after looking further. Not a good layout for a matrix mixer, which should probably be laid out like, well, a matrix.

On second look: $49 for a PCB and some components isn't half bad. An extra $50 for a fucking enclosure is laughable, though.

As cool as it is and as much as I love FX loops, I dunno about $350+.

You know actually I take my earlier comments back a bit. Matrix mixer setup is silly but it's got some cool functionality.
Still not buying one.

Peter has done Kickstarters before and he’s one guy I trust.
The RUP was 500 after the Kickstarter.
I’m a little disappointed this didn’t go the way it was originally intended though.

Im hecka intrigued, but I’ve also sort of landed on needing a matrix mixer to make my little tabletop live rig a reality. Haven’t watched the video yet but I’m curious!

I'm just not that into mixers or FX loops. Not my thang, chicken wang. Looking forward to hearing other people use it though. Once the Knobs demo drops and the influence is spread to the masses, this kickstarter will be a done deal.

Yeah, this was what really slammed this into "cash grab" territory for me. I do know the difference between supporting an idea you think is good, made by someone you like and being paying $50 for a $5 enclosure.
So the price seems nuts to me, and clearly a few others, so I'm curious what is it about this thing that's warranting the price?

Please tell where you’re getting pre-drilled 1790ns enclosures for 5 bucks. I need discounts.

1590XX is not the same as 1790NS.
While $5 is a stretch for a "pre-drilled" enclosure, I also think "pre-drilled" enclosure prices tend to be quite silly, myself. Especially since I've seen examples of the drilling being sub-standard because they were actually hand drilled rather than, say, CNC'd (I think it was an example from Mammoth where it was like that).
That being said, if you're spending even $25 a pop (generously assuming these enclosures are marked up only 200%) on pre-drilled 1590XX enclosures, you should find a new distributor.
