it depends on the pedal

the time based pedals like delays certainly seemed to function that way

amplitude pedals really pick up on the oscillations and would function a lot like ring modulators

Argh! Vimeo hates me! I know that YouTube sounds horrible, but is there any chance you'll put up some Utter Stutter vids on YT? The description sounds awesome...

just to be extra clear it really really depends on the pedal combo that's being tweaked

let's use a food analogy

lemon juice on its own isn't a treat. you add sugar you have lemonade, add it to broiled asparagus and all of a sudden it brings out tons of flavors. there's no hard an fast rule where lemon will work. sometimes it even makes chocolate work in an interesting way.

you get Utter Stutter to experiment and try it in your recipes.

get one not to repeat what i did but to find your own sounds

just for you.. uploading to you tube nao...

after watching it on youtube i am once again reminded why i use vimeo

you tube is a compost pile. regardless of quality, anything put into it just comes out as the most rudimentary nutrients for society's consumption. any fine detail or finishing is lost. it just ends up in the same pile as everything else.

Aw, thanks! That is a glorious vid, even when crapped down by YouTube.

It's true - YouTube does all kinds of horrible stuff to videos... but it's the only thing that works on my machines right now. Alas.

The pedal sounds AWESOME!!!! Or, uh, makes other pedals sound awesome. Or... you know what I mean.

You've never tried the DF-2, BF-2, or PS-3 before have you. BOSS does have some good pedals out there you know. Then again, now I'm wondering what it would sound like to put the CHK CHK BOOM in front of a PS-3 or a HOG now.
