I'm sorry, is everyone just conditioned to hate things that come from successful companies? No, it might not be a great idea to make a guitar out of what is basically plywood. And, no it's not going to cost $2,000.00. And, no you're not going to get Devi Ever to want to come hang out with you because you think a giant company hasn't made anything cool in two and a half decades.

Every guitar company has cut corners to make a guitar that is made in the USA and still affordable. EVERY guitar company even the tiny company that you think makes you cooler. At least Gibson did something because they thought it was weird and cool. It's a good sign for the guitar industry that someone's producing that weird crap that ,probably, no one will buy./I want one.

I don't think I'm conditioned to hate things that come from successful companies. I happen to love fender and gibson products both new and old. I tend to like ugly stuff too, but I'm sorry this shit is gross. There's really nothing I like about this guitar. Just my opinion though.

In my opinion, I think you're over-reacting. Some people don't like Gibson, get used to it. You're entitled to your opinion, but there's no need to attack the rest of us with it.

If we're so elitist against successful companies then why is the "show your guitar thread" filled with Fenders and Gibsons.

and for the record i own a Gibson SG Classic and love it, but I don't get pissy at people who don't want to pay $1,200 for a Zoot suit Gibson SG.

I wouldn't pay that much for it, I just thought it looked cool because it looks like those giant lollipops and it's nice to see Gibson making something that isn't conventional or really metal.

the black and natural looks very cool, and the use of plywood reminds me of a skate deck so thats cool in my book. but opinions aside doing something different like this pushes all companies come up with something new

I actually only joined this forum to gain cool points by impressing the big names in boutique pedal building.

its hideous, its plywood, it's against what gibson has said it stands for and it shows, imo, that gibsons constant firing/rehiring/firing of top people is starting to wear on the rest of the company
if this and the backwards things is the best their R&D can come up with i hope we're seeing an end to the gibson level douchebagginess

Seems like the most logical explanation to me... "don't knock it til you've tried it." Maybe plywood is the secret to yer ultimate toanz. Who knows?
