For "bread and butter" stuff on the relatively cheapish, the tRacks suite is consistently decent. Has all your stock mastering plugins, a few verbs now these days, etc. The 1176 and 670 work well enough that I haven't been tempted by UAD stuff in a while.
It's also on sale a LOT.

For cheap, check out Nomad Factory and Plug & Mix.
Valhalla makes fantastic reverbs and modulation and each are only $50 per. I use them on every mix.
For not so cheap: Fabfilter (awesome shit) and Soundtoys (awesome shit). I use both on every mix.
I want to try the Unfiltered Audio stuff. After watching a couple videos, looks very creative.
We need a cheap VST stereo pedal, makes me wish I were smarter to create one myself.

You mean a pedal you can use as a platform for plugins? I've wanted this forever and am sort of baffled that it doesn't exist yet.

That's exactly what I mean. There have been a couple that never took off because they were so expensive. SM Pro Audio made one but it was rather large and cost like $800.
