Buy the popless plugs and use those. Expensive, but it'll work

NP2RX-AU-SILENT or NP2X-AU-SILENT

Automatically, shorts when unplugging to mute any pops.

To clarify, it pops when you un/plug the 1/8 patching cables. I don't recall popping when you plug things in the 1/4 jacks. But that probably wouldn't matter much anyway, since the idea is that you leave the 1/4 jacks plugged in and use the patchbay to route things.

edit: to good to ignore, but yes... as pointed out above, sadly no solution to popping patchulator

do they do feedback-loops?
They definitely don't do the modular heap of cables fun, but I guess you can't always have everything....
Each patch point is wired discretely, and has a relay.
Unless you intentionally wired it up that way, it wouldn't.
Not what I bought it for.

You can simply use a volume pedal or kill switch at the end of your chain and use it when patching.

True, for some uses that would work fine. But if there is a loop/trails that you are trying to preserve while rearranging the chain behind it, you'd end up muting everything. Also, I use multiple parallel signal chains, so I'd have to add a volume at the end of each.
It's not the end of the world - it's still a very compact and handy device.
