Out of Fearless and into... San Tropez? And then it gets fuckin WORSE with SEAMUS?
I want to go back in time and say "Guys. I don't need a break between the good songs, OK?"
I've always felt Floyd would have done the world a
por favor by Jamming One Of These Days" 16 minutes longer and then going right into Echoes, skipping the rest of the tracks on that record.
CORRECT.
*edit*
Fuck I got so caught up in not liking Sn Tropez and Seamus I forgot about Fearless. That one's important.

Squirrel Bait
Sun God - A definitive "I'd trade all my gear to sing like that" type of song
When I Fall - 30s in and I'm ready to flip the record

You could argue that.
But then you'd be wrong.

I'm gonna break out Black Sabbath Volume 4.
Tomorrow's Dream is brilliant but is followed by Changes, which should not be on any Black Sabbath record ever.
In fact, the rest of the album is brilliant. It's one of my very favorite Sabbath albums.

Earthless's Rhythms from a Cosmic Sky album - the brilliant jam Sonic Prayer is followed by Cherry Red, their cover of a Bee Gee's song. It's horrifying.

Changes is terrible.

It's alright man, it's very Ozzy. I also like the strings and piano in it. Would probably better as an ender though, skipping that FX track.

Good point, AI. If it was at the end of the album I probably wouldn't hate it so much, because it would be easier to skip. But it's not, unfortunately.

I came in here to post this.
One of the best Sabb albums of all time, fuck only knows who decided to put Changes on there or how high they were when they committed to it.

Honestly I think it could be omitted from the record entirely. I skip it every time, without fail.
After the flawless exercise in perfection that is Master of Reality, its hard to justify the existence of Changes at all.
This should be a different thread, perhaps, but I have a tendency to skip straight to Flight of the Eagle whenever I put Om's Conference... on. Its the opposite effect.
I just cannot wait to get to those Cheopian fields.

I think Laguna Sunrise is a weirder fit on that record than Changes, I like the track, but yeah...weird fit.

It is a weird cut, for sure, but its in keeping with the Sabb formula of sticking a weird jam in towards the end of the record.
Vol 4 heralds the coming Sabathian weirdness of the next few records and closes their early approach to making records.
