I have a Classic 30 and it can do this but feel like the el84's would sound a little different. I would rather run it through my Hot Rod Deluxe 6l6cgs on the clean side. They can also be gotten for roughly $300, and are sturdy AF. That and the sky patch would be a good combo for you? But I also think the Strat he's playing has more to do with the sound than the amppopvulture wrote:It uses 5881/6L6 type tubes, so my first thought would be something like a Deville. Those can be had for really cheap pretty much anywhere off of Craigslist, but there's the reliability issue (likely the same thing you'd worry about with an Epiphone amp).
Maybe something like a Peavey Classic 30? Diff tubes (EL84) but similar ballpark in terms of gain options (2ch I think) and verb.
