Superfuzz clone recommendations

And if youre thiniing of going the Buzzz route, every other dirt pedal on your board had better have about 3 tonnes of bottom end, or you're going to be sorely disappointed in the world when you turn the Buzzz off amd switch to something else.

Necromancer or a LAL are on my get next list of superfuzzes.

Since this is one of my most beloved circuits, in the past years I tried about twenty different superfuzz pedals, including a couple of original Japanese ones. I've just missed the Dwarfcraft Necromancer and the Sacred Fire Superfuzz.

Apart from those, the four pedals I'd reccomend in order to get that sound are:

- Smallsound/Bigsound Buzzz. There's no competition, the most versatile of all, plenty of volume and really huuuge on low frequencies. You cannot find another superfuzz with that low end sweetness.

- Wren & Cuff Ace Octave Fuzz, based on the slightly different Ace Tone Fuzz Master 2, but the sound is similar enough in order to suggest it. Great volume, great note articulation and work really weel if used with other dirts. It's a little bit less dark than the original, but it's a great clone anyways.

- Wattson FY-6, because it nails perfeclty all the nuances of the old original Japanese fuzzboxes; maybe it doesn't have all the volume you need for an EGC, and it doesn't have all the low frequency of others, but pick up and old Jaguar, slam it in a Sound City 120 and you're in heaven.

- Zed The Ground Licker. Zed are a couple of weird fellows based in Milan (Italy), producing a couple of sweet dirts (US Christmas, Cripple Black Phoenix, Viscera and Esben & the Witch are using them). Since they knew my obsession, they asked me for a collaboration in order to give birth to a new superfuzz-based pedal. So we designed The Ground Licker: a tweaked-up superfuzz with an added bass boost knob, much mooore volume than any other and a really prominent upper octave sound. If you take a look at their site, they're going to upload a demo of the pedal in the next days.

So, Abanoise, which one do you like the best overall?

Since I was behind its conception, I could easily answer saying that I mostly prefer the Zed Ground Licker, but just only because it actually fits my needs better than the others. Lots of low frequencies if needed, massive output volume, lots of octave up and great sustain.

Anyways, I must admit they're all wonderful under different points of view. For example, the Buzz is the most versatile, the T-Pedals Black Fuzz is the craziest of all, the Wattson nails perfectly the tone of the old Univox I had, the Outbox is really useful onstage and the Wren & Cuff is well balanced on all frequencies and has tons of volume (and doesn't splatter the sound if put after another distortion).
