Loopers are easy depending on how complex your needs are. Here's a simple one I just patched:



The logic is: Audio input > table/record trigger by an input. It's set to trigger rec on at press, and then the invert logic makes it trigger off at release, but is also patched to then start playback immediately. Table/play is then routed to the audio output. See that tiny blue circle labelled "pos?" You coule leave that empty and just record to the beginning of the table every time. Or you could use a sine wave to have it move around the buffer. Or you could input a noise source and record to random points in quick succession. Or. Same for the playback "pos." Sounds like fun.

Guyz. It's programmable with external usb. No need to vote for looper, you can do looper and other shit and more. usb load looper, load synth, load glitch. Load on the fly.

Patches are built in the computer and then uploaded to the board so no computer needed for use. You can also upload to SD cards to have access to multiple patches. I think the usb host port is is just for controllers/input(?)

I have bought one a month ago and started to play with it a bit and had a lot of fun then I got stuck not being able to decide whether I would build something to go with guitar or something that would rather work with a synth/keyboard etc ... in terms of shape and controls etc, as I had lots of other stuff on my plate I kinda left it at that. This week I stumbled on a dirt cheap one second hand and got it .. perhaps I can make 2 things now

i know that you would have to incorporate SD cards or something like that due to processing and writing for the audio and for length, but do you think it would be possible to basically make a boomerang looper into a normal sized pedal format/enclosure, maybe with a few effects for your loops (like reverse, free form looping, locked looping, maybe something not normal like stuttering/glitch,, etc.) with this? I have always wanted a looper in metal enclosure that wasn't crazy huge like the boomerang but still had the features and multiple track looping. Even if it was just the bare basics like a boomerang. Why no one has made something like this yet kills me, as it would end all desire for any other looper that is on the market. the closest thing i can think of is the EHX 22500, but the menu is crazy deep and the foot switches are not intuitive at all from the manuals i have read. If it had the option of more than two tracks to record on too, my dreams would be answered

Part of the goal of my box is to make it work in almost any capacity -- effect or synth, pedalboard or desktop, with enough controls to be reasonable for most uses. Can always plug something in the back if I need keys, or more knobs/buttons. The thing I love most about it is it's not permanent and can let me quickly explore ideas with no expense other than the time it takes to patch and learn.

Yeah... was thinking about getting a backup from this batch just in case...

Yeah I found the layout you posted in the first page pretty great, also that it has some in/out controls if necessary.
I was over complicating things a lot in my head ... this has definitely inspired me to get back at it when I have some time :-)

Watching this w bated breath, very cool idea. I'm looking forward to seeing what you guys do and maybe trying it myself. The Snazzy FX modular piece has been intriguing me and this might be my incentive to just try it out myself.
