Well the SV1 requires a eurorack case to function, so that should probably push you towards the M32. If you were to start with a synth voice that needed a case, I'd probably recommend the Intellijel Atlantis over the SV1.
Also, have you checked out the Make Noise 0-Coast? Pair one of those with a SQ1 and I bet you'd get some really cool sounds immediately.
One thing you should consider is how you intend to perform with your eurorack. If you use loopers or record to a DAW and overdub, you can repeatedly reconfigure a single voice to build up a complex ambience. You'll need to do more wiggling, but a looper pedal could eliminate the need for extra voices in some cases.

Actually they now make the SV1 blackbox which is a stand alone unit just like tthe M32 !

I currently avec ableton lite or something like that (came with my little audio interface, I don't have a looper for now but a ditto could be considered. I think I'd rather have a couple voices than overdubing stuff on my DAW. I want my modular setup to be great and useable on it's own, I don't want to rely on DAW and loopers.
I don't know why but I'm not really interested in the 0-coast. It looks too much different than the rest, I wouldn't understand anything

Didn't know about the Blackbox, that's pretty cool! Moog sounds are everywhere and the SV1 sounds great (if you don't mind the 20-minute warmup), so maybe go for one of those plus an external sequencer? Maybe SQ1 to start, and add another sequencer later on. It's never bad to have two sequencers, since they can each control different parameters, so you won't regret having the SQ1 (I run one alongside an ASys RS200). I think it's great to try to build a eurorack that's self-sufficient!
I've been in the euro game for a while, so I forget how weird to 0-Coast is haha

JTurbide wrote:Thanks you guys are really helping me, I'll probably end up with a mother32 as it's cheaper and as a sequencer in it. On the other hand the SV1 has 2 oscillator, a 4 channel mixer and I'll end up buying an external sequencer anyway so probably not much use for mother's one. So SV1 is probably the best option... I'm so confused on which one I should get ! haha.
I'm looking for something that will give me the most right away as for now I wouldn't be able to afford a case and modules.. gotta find a job or something.
you'll be set for a good minute with the sv1 and beatstep pro. shoot a diff sequence per oscillator and you're already getting freaky. imho the sv1 cops a fat sound similar to the moog. the warm up is real tho and you need something that triggers midi. on the other hand, from what I understand, the m32 has a bit of learning curve with all the button combos and stuff to dive deep. i imagine you still have to wait for that one to warm up as well., if you are planning on expanding, i think thr sv1 offers the most utility besides the m32 and 0 coast.

This thread has nearly convinced me to get an SQ-1 to pair with my SV-1 blackbox...
The reasons I didn't go with the o-coast was because it ran at a different voltage than most stuff, and couldn't easily be mounted in a eurorack case. I didn't go with the Mother 32 because it seemed extremely simple when compared side-by-side with the SV-1, and the filter on the SV-1 sounded better than the Mother 32 to me. I live near a shop that had both of them and was able to go play with them, and compare the sound. The Mother didn't sound as nice to me
Definitely be prepared for the warm-up if you get the SV-1. I usually switch mine on when I'm thinking about playing and manage to talk myself out of farting around online all night by the time it's warmed up.
