As others have said: best for live use is the Headrush, DL4, older boomerang. M9 is good topic you're using it just for looping. Mullets makes great use of it.

Headrush is my fav cause you can re-record a loop if you mess it up midway and don't have to playback/stop it first before re-recording the loop again.

I dig the Boss RC-20XL, for some the reason the switches work really well for me to time the start and stop of the loop more evenly.
Headrush is pretty good too and so is the Boomerang III, though the latter I would only get if MIDI sync is a thing as it is quite pricey.
Ditto I only read shit about on here, dunno, never tried it.
Pigtronix Infinity seems wildly confusing to me.
I still want a Looperlative LP2, oof, that quantize replace.
That's about it, don't know what more to add.

I would suggest the DL4 or Boomerang III. Or the Digitich Jamman Stereo if you want to play pre-recorded samples. Infinity's firmware is hot garbage and full of bugs last I knew. Headrush is noisy, and one of the four I had just shit itself within weeks of buying it new. Personally do not like the Boss style stomp switches for timing loops nor did I care for the buffer on the RC20. Double tap to stop is a flawed idea for band usage, made only for bedroom sockgazers. Besides, there are enough complaints of the TC switches to make me want to stay away from the Ditto X2.

Play once makes the loop automatically stop after playing through once. Also you can refrigerate loops a la Minus the Bear.

The Timeline looper doesn't end the loop though, it just restarts is. Unless they updated it in which case I would buy another.

I've never found the one-button loopers to be that hard to use personally

Forgot to mention the Timefactor looper seems cool. I believe it was updated. H9 has the same looper but lame interface unless your into ios stuff.

I think tons of people would buy the heck out of a DL4 in a long, skinny enclosure with four stomps and a mix knob.
