I'll post pics later if people are interested, but it's a six-AA battery holder with an on/off switch and I'm using the tip from one of my old powersupplies. It'll work like a onespot or the old volto, and alltogether I think it costs $20 including batteries?
To see how long it'd last, I timed the battery pack last night. It uses six AA's, and it powered five pedals for roughly five hours? For three of those the fuzz/dirt didn't suffer too much. But it got significantly worse after that.

Yeah, that's interesting. The AA rechargeables I have are 2400mAh each. I'd be curious to try your method with them.
I tried one of my Ener 9v cells in the big box RRR. It had enough juice to switch on, but I was interrupted before putting it through the paces, and left the input patch cable plugged in, only to return to a dead cell some 9 hours later. I'm almost positive I remembered to switch off the pedal before leaving, but uncertain, and have yet to try a 2nd test.
Also my charger takes about 9-10 hours to recharge a 9v, not 6-7 as initially thought.

Yeah, I was trying to figure out how many mAh my battery pack was putting out at 9v, but I couldn't figure it out. My AA's are those eneloop ones, which have about 2000. I can definitely have enough charged for my battery pack in 3-4 hours, though.

Just remembered the RRR was off, after removing the cell and reconnecting the psu. So it's safe to say the 9v was drained over the course of several hours, even with the effect bypassed. So unless I'm mistaken, they're great for fuzz & wah but don't count on them for use with digital pedals, for any extended period of time. Maybe good for a show?

I don't play very regularly, and these batteries seem to hold their charge fairly well. If I'm playing regularly I'd probably drain the batteries about once a week? I was running a bitquest, memory man, elements, and two custom dual fuzzes and it lasted a long time considering how much was there and on for the whole time.
