Dude, do you even want a muff? The saturation and the problematic mids are kind of the muff sound for me.
Algal bloom, or Ab Synth if you want more saturation?
Or wait a week or three and get on the Frazz train. Because it will rule you.

I'm in no rush to find the muff, just wanted to play one last night and realized I didn't have a muff again.

Algal Bloom rules, but it's a very different sound. Huge fan of it though. Also have incoming modified Sonic Shroom(x2) and Doom Bloom incoming.

I was about to ask a similar question to verify wether the answer to
"Badasser Muff WITH MIds?" was still "Colossuss or Supercollider".....?

on the other hand... if that new Frazz sounds half as nice as the pedal looks:YUM!
and everyone should try a TAFM at least once (Thank you Phanta!)
aural conjunctions on SC

I hate moodswings are awesome! Oh, and I usually post when I'm way too tired...

Also just remembered one of the best dirt circuit pairings: Tubescreamer into Muff.
TS as boost, low drive/high volume and use its tone knob with the Muff's to fill the scooped mids and goose it.
Makes for an extra angry :animal:

Had mids problems with past muffs, but I feel like the blunderbuss changed the muff game for me.

That said, I'm really happy with the muff sounds coming from my baby thunder. "Tone blast" engaged brings the mids back in.
How do you like the baby thunder? I've been considering to get one

I feel like a lot of people sort of pigeonhole muffs to a singular kind of round, saturated sound, or at least I know I did. One thing that opened my eyes a bit was a friend telling me he always plays them with the tone dimed to full treble, which seemed so counter everything I had in my mind. Tried it and it rules, nasty and aggressive. I also love playing them at lower gain. Additionally quite a bit of fun to be had with the guitar volume knob, which was another degree of subtlety that surprised me.

In short: maybe spend some more time with em. And I'll throw down another vote for a green being a good option for what you're after.
