Would that not be a fairly easy mod? I'm technically inept, but that doesn't seem like a crazy request.

How about a Meathead? Extremely straight forward and you can get a clone of that shit and they are great man. I miss mine like fucking crazy.

Yeah, same deal as the acapulco gold and any other one knobber...I'm on the fence about having just one control, instead of at least seperate vol/gain controls. More than four controls on a basic fuzz/overdrive is usually overkill imo, the builder should've just made a couple more decisions on those two subtle little parameters, instead of having me fiddle with the damn peddle more than I'm actually playing guitar. But yeah, just one control...Looks badass, but can be a pita, especially when noodling at home, when I want full gain at whisper quiet levels :idk:

The knob on the AG is volume, not gain. It's always full gain even at whisper soft volumes. Only way to reduce the gain into overdrive territory is rolling off the volume on your guitar

Bro. Bro. The Meathead Deluxe has three controls. Volume, Filter and Attack. I'm almost positive the attack acts as a gainish control. I had one for a bit and it was the shit.

What's nice about the Meathead is that it's stupid punchy and it can be made/had for cheap as shit usually. You could reach out to one of our Shark Tank homies to build you one the way you want.

I will say this about the Acapulco Gold. For only have one knob it is fucking fantastic. I never thought I'd dig a one knobber but it works for that guy.

Oh yeah damn, forgot all the deluxe version

Whatever diy shark tank clone dealio is ending up on my board, it'd have to be stupid cheap....I've got the attention span of a 5 year old and suffer from constant GAS attacks (dont we all?)...So that shit better be easy flippable, which imo isn't always the case with nameless clones :idk:

Edit :

How hard would it be to have me a meathead deluxe AND a harmonic percolator build in one eclosure? As in 5 controls, two switches...? :excellent:

More food for thought, you might check out the Dunn Deceiver. It's his take on a Rat circuit. I got one for my secret Santa last year and I loved it so much I would have bought a second one had I the cash. Later bought a modded proco rat, and just didn't dig it.

One of the many tempting options...That unfortunately are far from super cheap or easily available in the EU :(

Forgot all about him, thanks for reminding me :)

I might mail him about that custom build I was talking about, though I suspect it'd cost me more than I'm willing to spend at the moment..:/

Yeah usually cheap and custom build rarely cross paths...usually. Worth asking though!

Another easily available bread 'n butter sorta distortion that might do the trick: Way Huge Fat Sandwich. From what I can hear in the online demos, it's not a gnarly next level fuzz or anything, but it's not another generic sounding marshall-in-a-box type of overdrive either. Dunno how much I'll wish for those extra trim pots to be on the outside though, and for the money there's probably quite a few other options out there...:/
