Storm in a teacup in my opinion, if he has legal rights to any of the names/designs etc I am happy to change and even STOP, I'm not precious. I have not had any emails off him yet though. I'm happy to chat as long as he keeps things civilised.
When I first started doing them I left 'RUSH' out of all designs as I knew something like this might happen as I had heard Pepe can be a bit touchy!

Can't copyright a name but you can trademark it. That being said, I doubt he has. Most people don't.

I would say let him waste his money on a cease and desist as he has no grounds to do anything. He has to have evidence that he in fact owns the name and has intellectual property rights over the design. Seeing as how this was originally made in the 60's and for only 1 year, I kind of highly doubt it.

I would like to point out that it's entirely likely that this dude designed the circuit and got completely screwed out of most of the money that the circuit has generated, not dissimilar to the way a lot of musicians get, uh, not equitably compensated by songwriting/publishing.
