Well I was kind of near a computer when I moved all my stuff upstairs but not when it was in my room.
You see, a couple days ago I went to a wedding and we were in one of those ENORMOUS white tents that hold like 500 people and the poles go like 5 stories into the air and it started raining. As the person read her speech the rain and thunder got so loud on the tent that nobody could even hear the p.a.. Then we hear a huge crack like a deafening noise and the entire wall (which my table was right up against) burst open and the huge fucking buffet table went flying in the air and it looked like the wall was gonna collapse (I had to literally shove and tackle my girlfriend get her away). At first I thought it was a tornado but then the wind stopped and then the rain stopped and a rainbow came out and everything was cool. So after a couple glasses of wine I got back to my table and tried to turn on my ipod and it gave me one of those red X's and it wont manually reset or go into disk mode. Is it possible that some lighting hit near the tent and some how electronically charged me?

Lol I wouldn't know about the science behind that but it sounds unlikely your still charged, if you are, ground yourself on something metal (sticking your bare foot on a radiator perhaps, to allow playing with both hands) and you'll find out.

Read this article on noise http://www.guitarnuts.com/technical/noisebucket.php it'll explain why you make noise relevant to the guitar.

Self-magnetism aside, is any of your house lighting on dimmers? I was getting a BAD hum one night and couldn't figure out what it was. It turned out to be a light in another room down the hall that had a dimmer built into the switch. I never really used that light before but unfortunately my gf does, and it's always when I'm playing ...

Lol maybe she's doing it to put you off playing in the house?

Did you check the lead? I mean that would be a common between all your problems, that or both guitars have managed to pick up microphonic feedback at the same time or both broken a ground you can't see or somethings happened to the power supply to your house.

Flourescent lights are also bad aswell as dimmers and TV's and monitors and any other electrical interference

So basically I need to strand myself in the middle of the Sahara desert with my guitar rig. :bob:

Hmmm, good point. But I usually just play louder when she does it.
