Sorry to hear that. A cranked tt through a 4X12 *should* be able to hold its own in a practice/jam situation, but it doesn't have enough headroom to survive if:
a) Your cab's got inefficient speakers and/or an open back cab, which I'm assuming your cab isn't. Expect a serious audible difference when upgrading G12H75's to even just a quad of Vintage 30s.
b) Your band's ridiculously loud. As in, a loud drummer and drum kit, big bass rig, second guitarist with a beefy half stack, etc...
c) Your guitar's got really low output pickups. Don't no how that translates to db's or anything, I just know I have to adjust my amp's volume when I plug in a gibbo instead of my tele.
Anyway, if it's just a matter of fixing one of those things instead of several, and you're an extra couple db's short...Something like an mxr micro amp wouldn't be just a cheap solution, there's actually a good chance it'll sound extra rad if you get your speakers and amp's front end cooking extra
It'll eat up tubes faster than you could replace em though :s
