Yeah it's possible the entire catalog of Aerosmith could have been reverse-tainted by new Aerosmith. REVERSE TAINT.

Since we're taking this thread in the direction of the almighty Scarf Muppet, did anyone see this? It's his new country song. I really think it could be the worst music ever made.

I hate to say this, but I liked that song. It actually kind of moved me and that dude has not written a song that I've enjoyed for a long, long fucking time. Wow. I don't know how to feel about this.

The video is creepy but the song I thought was great. Maybe I'm just weird?

Aerosmith have their moments. I know you're being hyperbolic but... come on dude, worst band in the world? Of all the bands currently existing on the planet earth, they're the worst? No way. Tyler is the worst thing about the band, definitely. The version of "Dream On" that he doesn't sing is awesome. But even with him, there are okay songs. "Sweet Emotion," "Back In The Saddle," and "Same Old Song And Dance" in particular...

But they have committed a shitton of musical atrocities, namely "Janie's Got A Gun," "Dude Looks Like A Lady," "Cryin'," "Crazy," and (though I'm torn on including it) "Don't Wanna Miss A Thing," all of which have had any scrap of potential enjoyment I might have derived long, long since throttled out of them by the death-grip choke of the ubiquitous Classic Rock radio format.

Joe Perry is, like Richie Sambora and every member of Van Halen, the absolute worst of what Led Zeppelin wrought upon us. It started out as hedonistic, heavy American blues tributes to Crowley, Nietzsche, and Tolkien... by the time it got back across the pond it had trickled down to chest hair, animal prints, and oversexed, off-key yelping. God help every sorry member of the Boomer generation for its musical crimes against humanity.

EDIT: After talking myself through this I basically agree with you.

Or I am.. it's hard to say… are you weird for liking a song that was specifically made to be marketed along hallmark lines [be it with a creepy grandpa wants some jailbait imagery] or me that finds things that are marketed for mass consumption to be 75% + offensive? who knows :idk:

Well, Jwar does like Live and Collective soul, so maybe his deep appreciation of solo Tyler makes sense...

I don't think that is particularly fair since to me, Aerosmith are one of the absolutely quintessential classic american rock bands :idk: of course they will be played ad nauseum by Classic Rock radios - they make Classic Rock radios ;)

I'm not particularly fond of them but for what they are, I think they are really good. As... you know... Dinosaurs, classics... Yes, they can be kitschy as fuck and yes, it's generally pretty trash, but that's sort of what it should be, innit? :idk: At least they're entertaining and don't leave you indifferent like many other bands, even well known ones could :idk:

If I'm in the right mood, i can jam the fuck out to some Aerosmith... and I never thought I'd say that

Re: Collective Soul, they had jams, you KNOW they had jams, and let's just not insult our mutual intelligence any further by pretending, even for a second, that they did not have jams
