The districts are not a small time band. The districts opened for the rolling stones and tour with dr dog.
Now the districts side project https://www.facebook.com/Straw-Hats-251543321550805/ is a great small time garage rock band.
My band did a few dates with them in February. Best dudes ever.

Ah well they were small once :idk:

I'll try again:
Feral Future (Austin-based girl punk)
Tomato Dodgers (proggy? mathy? goofy? amazing)
The Spirit of the Beehive (philly based)
Creepoid

same here.

biggest acts i've had in so far have been lo-pan, end of the ocean, the queers, rangda, damn the witch siren, stuff like that.
i put together a show with the big sleep (frenchkiss records), but that took place at another venue.
(i actually gave them their first two shows outside NY once upon a time.)

Theyre appropriate for a 200 cap room.

Yeah, I just meant that they have a booking agent and thus a guarantee.

almost always if they aren't doing booking themselves.
makes the venue have to be VERY confident about the turnout, unless it's an outside party being responsible for the deal.
that's how it was for us w/ rangda. we were happy to have the show, but the guy that booked it (who isn't part of our staff) wound up losing money because he / they didn't get enough people paying to see the show.

Awesome clip. Think they may also be too big for space6oy.

So, space6oy, you want bands with how much of their own draw?

they wouldn't be too big for my place.

draw is all situational, who all's on the bill, what night it is, so on.
like last night we only had about 50 people plus the bands, but they were a big drinking crowd so we did fine.
not great, but fine.

bands that aren't local, you know, not often do they have draw because they aren't known of aside from the locals that are helping them out,
unless they're already an established touring act or have played here before, things like that.

200 capacity, if we get over 100 it's awesome, if we have to cut off the door it's nuts. if there's only 20 people it blows.

i'm like braindead right now from being up all night until noon for the first time in ages so i hope that all makes sense...
