Also, because I feel like an idiot for not mentioning it: lighter, stainless strings. The lack of sustain won't be the stainless, but it'll add plink especially if you go down a couple gauges from normal and kill sustain hardcore versus what you're used to.

and yet Billy Gibbons… I've tried his set of 7s.. all you can plan on them is sustainy bluesy stuff...

yeah but you are always suppose to use that much gain, otherwise would be silly.

I've had multiple occasions when I really liked the muted, plunky sound I was getting but I didn't know where it was coming from. Then I would notice it was because I was wearing a shirt with loose sleeves. :facepalm:
