I'm in if there's room. I just busted out my PC and MPC 500 that have been packed for over a month up since our recent move. Need some motivation to start making some proper noise again.

Got it :thumb:

As to room: there's one spot on the list as of now. I'd love to keep this open through the weekend but the nature of this sort of thing is that it's going to get incredibly unwieldy if we allow a ton of people in (not only are you looking at, like, 20 tracks to listen to you're also looking at 20 elements to include) so let's put a hard cap on 12 and we'll roll with whoever's signed up by Monday if we don't hit that. Sound good, self? Sounds great, self.

Also it's first come first serve, obvi.

....are you saying every element in the pool must be in every track submitted?
it would be an interesting take on this, but you're not saying that, right?
Samples could get cut & stretched & mangled beyond recognition anyway so...Yes? You are saying that! No?

little confused here :!!!:

Ah! good catch -- I was actually talking about the dropbox folder/zip file.

So to be clear, we all submit sounds to a list/bank, then we all go our separate ways and make pieces out of them? Or am I way off the mark on that?

I'm in if it is still possible.

Also, a question : would it be ok to put the provided samples in modules or loopers that can store stuff (Radiomusic and EHX 22500 for example) and then use these live with additional processing/etc. (not using any other sound source) ?

The end result would be similar to what someone could get from playing with the samples in a DAW but with a very different workflow...

I'd say this is well within the spirit of the idea, so why not? :thumb:

It looks like we have... everyone? :snax:

I'll clear out my PM box, but once you have a sample or two ready send them my way in WAV or AIFF. How do you guys feel about a deadline of 4/23 (or 23-4, depending on where you are) for samples, and then we try to have the pieces done by June?

Not sure of everyone's process, but it seems like we wouldn't need so much time for sample generation?

maybe not? I mean some of that is selfish since i'll be offline for a week in the middle of April, but it's kind of up to you guys.

Yeah, don't want to pinch anyone off so I am down for whenever. Just figure that I could use more time for the actual mangling/construction process!

Full disclosure -- I was intending on submitting some samples I already made that I think are really cool, but I know I won't ever use. Is that legit, or sort of against the spirit of things?
