Argh. I knew that, but typed Australia anyway. At least you didn't see yesterday's thread where I called you Canadian.

Thanks for all the detailed info !
And yeah, if I get something I'd rather focus on Japanese-made pedals. They end up being cheaper for me and are usually quite nice. The other recommended pedals so far would be more expensive here most of the time.
What about the Maxon/Ibanez PT-9, PT-9 Pro, PT-909 and PT-01 ? Did you try these models ? These are all available easily enough here (both old ones and reissues apparently, with quite a bit of variation). I head that the Ibanez/Maxon 9 series chorus do not handle hot levels very well, is that the case for the PT-9 too ?

Damn lately I've been wanting some phaser in my life. Being honest here: I always though phase and flange were the tackiest effects, but now I'm actually very drawn towards both

I've never been disappointed by any Maxon stuff (I personally use an AD999Pro & a VJR9 Vintage Jet Riser). They've always done modulation and delay well. I'm familiar with all of those units mentioned, but never owned any of them, so I can't comment on how well they would handle line levels.
The PT-9 Pro+ is one I've been wanting to pick up for a while, and it was only recently taken out of production. The 3-knob 909 (Ibanez blue or Maxon orange) is a fairly classic phaser. They may not give you a large variety of sounds, but what they do, they do well (slow, light to moderate attack / fast, wet & warbly 70s phasing).
People who like them, really like them, but you will find slight variations from different batches and years.
Have you looked into the Ibanez PH99? I don't know about scarcity for the Japanese market, but that one is fairly coveted stateside.

Can't go wrong with a phase 90
I'm using a mu tron phasor II right now, kicks all kind of ass. They're expensive and the size of a boat though

Would love a Phasor 2, or clone....most likely have to settle for a clone.

Quick update : I managed to find another Pearl PH-03 for an even cheaper price, it's on its way now...
