Medium scale Chromes came, they fit the bass perfectly (literally... the silk ends right behind the nut  ) and sound all glorious :) with a functional low E, the bass came alive, the low E rumbles like nobody's business

thanks to Mudfuzz for supporting getting the Chromes (here or on facebook, doesn't matter)

next up... trying the Mono sharkskin strap I have in the studio on it, thinking about getting the pickups re-wound... But in general, I think the bass is exactly the opposite of my P/J, all boomy and warm, so... mission accomplished!

If I were a bassplayer, that would be the style of bass I would play.

So after playing at high volumes with the band...

I. FUCKING. LOVE. THAT. BASS

I'm not sure how much do Chromes mellow out but in general... the bass sits amazingly well in the mix, character-wise, and is actually much more versatile than I'd expect it to be. Has incredible weight to the tone even in higher positions (which I often play in) and is really inspiring, too - we mostly jammed for four hours pretty much straight and it was awesome. The neck is huge but wasn't as tiring to play as I though.

I can absolutely imagine playing a whole set with it. which i will most probably try doing ASAP

switched to the P/J at the end and it's such a different sound... much drier and snappier. Surprisingly - I expected the opposite - I prefer the hollowbody with pick and P/J with fingers. Since I play most of our music with a pick anyway, it's quite nice :)

On topic of feedback... pretty controllable I'd say. It can feedback like a motherfucker if I stack dirt, but when I go just one pedal, it's really controllable most of the times. Sounds super sweet with pedals in general

really looking forward to trying my new Harmonic Percolator with it :)

one beef - it needs a fretjob, for which I simply DON'T have the money now. Frets are tiny and there's a couple of frets that are pretty worn down and mute the tone in an unusable way.
