Also fwiw you're wrong about the 'no openers' bit: Correspondences and Awaas both opened that show and were both crushing. :)

But I mean nice of you to show up for the one band pitchfork cares about and ignore the two good locals acts I'm sure that's what you're going for here.

(I kid, I kid)

Tbh there was a shit ton of stupid idle banter at that show (you can hear it on the recording). Lots of people trying to sound smart by talking at the band and failing. That's my enduring memory, that and they were more rockin' than I expected.

HOWEVER.

Both of those bands were rad while they were around.

I also caught Milk Carton Kids at Port City Music Hall recently, were you at that one? Or too folksy for your taste?

The stupid idle banter was probably spillover from the Mumford crowd TBH

That show was a year before I joined ILF or so.

They're playing State Theatre on May 18th and I know folk's not your thing, but I recommend it. They are born entertainers and not too shabby at guitar.

Six Organs is awesome and I'm jealous. Where I live right now the most recent concert was Johnny Reid and it was, like, $90/ticket to cover the gas money to even get up here. WTF.

I wanna get some Montreal bands up here but I'd have to book them myself. I should talk to that C H R I S T guy...

Someone dig up the surprised-at-hatespeech-in-pro-Israel-group one. :poke:

You laugh, but the pro-Israel community I was in on Tumblr, and its spinoff FB group, was liberal, and even PC. It was a group for Jews and people coming to Zionism primarily through one Jewish angle or another, and it was global. We advocated for a two-state solution and were not anti-Palestine.

When I joined other groups with names like "STAND WITH ISRAEL" on FB, they were driven primarily by American Christian Zionists, and that's a very different animal. A very stupid, Islamophobic animal. (No shade thrown at Christians in general.)

I promise to check both these bands out and I DEFINITELY did not mean to skip the openers! I was just walking down Congress and then around downtown and I stumbled into the gallery just in time for the set. I swear.
