My "Science Streetsweeper" fund may be abolished for the sake of this. The only thing stopping me getting one now is how crushingly awful the Canadian dollar is. $1250 for most, $1800 here. Is it wrong to get this excited over wattage?

He had a huge beard, and probably it got itchy/smelly/too much in the way.

Anyhow, I'm a little disappointed that no one played a piano because pianos need that cleanliness in sound. Whatever though, half of this amp has 100 watts more than my combo.

I would get asked very impolitely to turn down so hard with this thing.

That thing is beautiful. Love Verellen's aesthetic.

cosmetically gorgeous but... solid state? i'd like to know more about this aspect of it. 1400 watts is a fun number but isn't there something about solid state watts vs tube watts being much louder?

reminds me of my old verellen head with 2 separate 100 watt (tube) amps in one body. that thing was beast. exactly the same as this amp as far as mono/stereo functionality and separate EQs!

Was that the blue "zygomatic twin"? Fuck that thing was bad ass, when I was about to be the only guitarist in my band I almost ripped off that idea so I could run two stacks and just be way too loud.

+1

Remember those sweet days a few years back when the dollar was at par?

Better yet... when it was higher?

This looks pretty interesting. I don't know if I can afford it but I wouldn't mind using it as a bass head. Use an MXR M-80 with the Output going to Channel A and the Parallel output to Channel B for a a nice blend of Dirt/Clean.

This was my first thought too. So $1250 + the cost of all new cabs capable of handling that much wattage = not in my immediate future. Stoked someone else is working with solid state though.

I'm heavily considering selling my classic 400 and V4/V2 cab and getting this and two dominion cabs. It solves my whole two amp dilemma with way more power and lighter weight...

Smart money says Verellen hasn't designed a solid state power section but is using a 3rd party's OEM drop in solution, an ICE class D power module, which have become ubiquitous. Nowadays "working with solid state" is mostly about speccing the DSP on your ICE module. I'm not knocking this amp in any way. In fact if he built a Meatsmoke with similar topology I might hop on board, maybe that's in the works already?
