Damn straight. Than again, I don't really care for the BKF Honey Bee (similar to the Sweet Honey OD btw, right?) or Klon

For real though, Demo Tape is great.

Fuck with an OCD if you never have before. Any original variant or a clone. Goes from clean boost to fuzz but still sounds natural.

Good call. Plenty of cheapo clones out there too. The mooer one comes to mind. When I had one I can't say I noticed a whole lot of difference with the -admittingly less 'unethical'- Fulltone verion
Also: Hotcake. Especially if you keep the drive below noon and use it with an amp that's not too dark/muddy/bassy/dirty

Montreal Assembly Positive is a great hotcake variant.

Proco Rat could work for you.

When in doubt, Rat is the answer.
EQD Talons is versatile as hell too, wouldn't pay more than $80 for a single dirt pedal though.

Or Mid-Fi OD. Especially for the rootsy slide stuff. I've never played a Mini or Fuck though…yet!

Or play through an actual 4 track
Also I'm getting more and more interested in the EQD drives, esp Talons. But I haven't looked hard enough to have an opinion. Or a Mellowtone singing tree, they seems pretty bad ass and versatile too

I like the Mini. Not sure how much it'd fit into the roots rock kind of world, but certainly worth a look/listen. The great thing about it is its high degree of tweakability... esp love the bias knob.
I like the Spaceman Aphelion a lot, have had some good luck getting some awesome toanz out of mine. Also a big fan of less midrangey ODs like the Blues Driver (which sounds great on its own, a little better with something like the Keeley mod), Catalinbread SFT and Wampler Euphoria. The latter's probably more than a bit of an odd man out around ILF, as I think it's definitely got a bit of a buttery blues lawyer association. That said, the voicing switch on it is great. I really have enjoyed the sound of the "open" setting when I've played em, but I've never owned one. I've easily owned more ODs than any other pedal and just can't do it anymore, haha...

It doesn't have to be lo fi and janky. With the bias up its extremely warm and thick and dynamic and all those other words

That new EQD Bellows might work too. Or one of those tweed amp blowing up sounding Electra distortion clones.
