Though for real if you can't go as hard as this you need to stay out of grind maybe join the arcade fire or something

Yamaha Pacifica. Severely uncool, but they really are solid machines, and play great. My current shredmachine is a Pacifica sprayed yellow with a BK Nailbomb in the bridge. Superfast neck, light, but big sound.

Those Nailbombs really do kick out the upper mids with serious heat. It does pinch harmonics just by looking at it.

I just got a brand new Pacifica 112J in lake placid blue 2 days ago ... It's made in Indonesia and built well, feels good with a 13.75 radius and narrow neck, and runs at $199 - it's a great backup guitar

For current production, no trem, I've been happy with my Ibanez RGKP6 (the one with the Kaoss Pad in it).

Built-in distortion is surprisingly good, and it sounds decent clean if I want that as well. Kaoss Pad is just a bonus.

<$400 if you look new.

Wizard III neck IIRC, fretwork was spotless on mine and intonation spot on. Light as a feather as well.

My pedalboard costs approximately 191 Metal Zones.

60'ies Hagströms ... Thinnest neck ever. HIIN with humbuckers sounds really doomy and angry.

I read a while back that hagstrom had questionable build quality ... What's been your experience

Ive had lots of hagstroms and they were totally solid. Well. I wouldnt go on the road with any of the vintage hollowbodies. But other than that. The thing about those was that you used to be able to get them for like 300 bucks. Not so much anymore. Also changing strings on one with the trem is the biggest pain in the ass.

That being said, you can usually find the reissue ones for dirt cheap. They are about as solid as any korean whatever guitar and sound and look cool as fuck sooooo

I haven't tried any of the reissues more than like 5 minutes, but the old ones are really tight and high quality. As mentioned, the old Viking hollows might a bit flimsy for hard abuse. Also the early plastic body ones can develop cracks in strange places. But the HI, HII, HIII were always prefered by the punks here. Fairly inexpensive, superthin, fast necks and you can use it as a pole weapon if the crowd don't like your songs. Mark Arm used several in early Mudhoney and he don't pick lightly.

Saw iron lung at dudefest '06, heavy as fuck.
I also would suggest a reissue hag. I have a swede that has been beat to hell and back. Neck is the thinnest I've ever played. Scored it for like $280 a few years ago but I know they've gone up since

I wish Dudefest still happened.
I think it was Dudefest 06 when I last saw them as well.
