Dude.... do you realize what you've done. The GAS you have inspired in all of us may just rip a hole in the space time continuum!
Seriously though, I've been getting so many sick tones out of my doom bloom, I can only imagine how great this combo is.

I think I'm in love. Honestly, the only thing it has "over" owning the individual pedals is it only needs one power line, but it just has that cool factor. I love it.
An order toggle or individual ins and outs were options, but I just stuck with the one way Doom->Algal. For now. I may have it modded in the future, but I don't know that that's necessary..my Hyperion/Bit combo has an order switch that I never use, since I like it one way far more than the other.
Currently the Algal is set up lower gain, and doom is bone crushing, but the algal has a ton of tricks too.
And I'm really glad for the clean blend, even as a guitarist, it adds something special none of my other pedals can do.

Clean blend is great for stacking. It does fuck up your levels, but it brings out extra texture you couldn't get without it. Good feature to have for stacking
but I say that as a bass player. As a guitar player I used to hate clean blend with a vengeance

Low gain algal is super good!
Also clean blends suck.
Except for stacking.
Then they rule.
So all in all - pedal rules.

I agree, it's quickly becoming my nearly-always-on foundation sound.

Why this? Why do they suck? in a pedal like the EHX Bass Muff, I might agree, because the toggle brings in a fixed 50/50 mix of clean and dirt, but on this, I have a knob that I can adjust the ratio to taste, even to the point of clean boost if i wanted. With the gain low, blended with the clean, its a magical texture that is the musical equivalent of a dirty blonde...Not quite blonde (clean), but not quite a brunette (dirty).

I can just never get the clean to sit right with a guitar. The lower gain the easier it is to get it to blend nicely, but then the less effect it has. And high gain with a blend is just silly. Bass it has some utility, but not on a guitar.
Unless you are doing the stack stack fun time. Then it is just more texture for the masses.

If you are running both at the same time doesn't the clean blend act more like a clean level for just the doom bloom while the algal volume will control the 2 stacked fuzz signals? So it would be similar to running parallel fuzzes using the clean knob? Or is the clean always clean?

The clean is its own circuit(has it's own board even) but is only engaged, I assume parallel, with the algal. So when the algal is on, clean is engaged, however much you want of it.
But because the Doom is first in line, if both are on the clean blend basically straight boosts the Doom, while it also stacks with the algal.
Make sense? Lol

Red is right switch, blue is left.
Doom is first in the signal chain, into the algal, which is parallel with the clean, and on the same switch.

Yeah that's what I imagined. I bet that thing sounds massive. How different is the algal from the doom? I've heard conflicting reports and I'm wondering if its worth giving it a shot as well or if they are super similar.
