Possibly, don't know...

But if that's not a steal, I know what is

As far as other cheap trash metal combos go...There's the Laney AOR combos. There's a 50 as well as a 100watt version if I'm not mistakin. Plenty of gain, tons of low end, and dirt cheap :idk:

Yes. Also the heaviest amp Ive ever carried. Its a clean beast tho. If you dont want a twin or do want gain on tap you prob dont want this.

any reason you want a combo instead of a head + cab? for me its easier to transport a head and separate speaker cab and it opens up your options. did you check out that kustom, man? the dirt channel gets nasty and the reverb has a tone control. theyre pretty burly.

From the demos I've heard the VT-22 has that perfect natural breakup that I like in an amp. I could slam it with an overdrive/distortion/fuzz and get where I need to be. I feel like that modern metal gain sounds ridiculous in my hands.

I dunno. I don't have a car and loading a combo in with my drummers gear seems easier. And if I want more speakers I can always hook up a cab to it.

Was gonna say 5150, like everyone else has. I still want to pick one up for brutal tones. I played with a guy years ago that had one and it sounded great.

Ok so now this is fun, crawling some other cities' craigslist page.

http://atlanta.craigslist.org/nat/msg/5378492642.html EVH 5150 III 50w combo - bit over your stated max of $600, but these are very recently made, and are like $1500 new. Probably one of the better clean channels of anything listed so far.

http://atlanta.craigslist.org/nat/msg/5361508836.html Jet City 5212 - not sure about the "based on the soldano lucky 13", but Mike Soldano was involved in the design process, check youtube to see if the toanz fit what you want.

http://atlanta.craigslist.org/nat/msg/5367589020.html Blackstar HT Stage 60, a friend of mine has a Blackstar Club 40, and it sounds pretty good.

Loud, reliable, rock/metal....My vote is the Marshall Valvestate VS102r, cheap, very reliable and sounds great for rock/metal. Just don't expect vintage Hendrixy tones and you won't be disappointed.

Never played one, can't comment. Are they also hybrids like the VS?

Goddamn somebody jump on that VT-22. That's a steal! I love mine but, yeah, it doesn't quite fit what you described unless you plan on using pedals for dirt and they are so goddamn heavy. Seriously the heaviest amp I've ever lifted.
