this is also another reason why i hope to have like a $300-$500 gear budget or something someday when little things like this pop up, which seems to become ever more frequent recently.
i just did a RSS feed to Google Reader for the "Stupid Deal of the Day." was this Jag blowout a stupid-deal-of-the-day.

Don't know but I assume it was an unadvertised sale that was emailed to a select group. I'm on their email list and usually get these "call-in only" sales but i didn't get this one for some reason.

Not sure where they advertise them, but they've been holding "fender fridays" for the past few weeks...
you just call up between 4am and 11pm on friday and ask what the deal of the day is.

why can't they just make those deals open to the public via the MF website? some transparency or something.

Law prevents it. Most manufacturers participate in MAP. = Minimum Advertised Price to keep the playing field level. MF
can sell shit for any price they decide, but they can't blab about it, below a certain number.
