Right. My thinking was that he could sample whatever he wanted with the Phonogene. Could make for some interesting guitar music, though he'd still need an input module. And the Echophon is fun with guitar, too, though it doesn't offer the cv flexibility that other things do.

If you're just looking for cv...I'd get a Wogglebug, Maths, and a filter (haven't tried the MMG, but it looks interesting). But what do I know...(very little).

Though the skiff (case) itself and the Maths/Wogglebug could be a good fit, individually.
Yeah I wanted to recommend the System Concrete but I thought the same thing. Their old control skiff would have been better but it doesn't look like they sell them any more. Pretty sure it was a skiff with a Rene and 2 Pressure Points and Brains.

That's because it wasn't on a skiff. They're are probably gearing up to relaunch it with it. :V

This is wonderful info, thx so much guys. I still think a blank pedal patch box from Pittsburgh modular will be a nice way to get me started. I'm sure I'll climb further down the rabbit hole later.

Thx for all the module suggestions too, having a ball checking these out.

Btw, if you're not doing it yet, try to use Modulargrid both to plan stuff and to check existing modules by type.
