I went from big box dmm to timeline to xo dmm. The timeline can never sound like either of em. It can certainly get very very close, but to my ear it always sounds like a timeline no matter what. At the time I figured the timeline would be close enough and all the other cool possibilities would satisfy me, but the dmm is unique and really hits everything I want from a delay.

Not to be an echo but the xo is truly awesome. My big box hated any kind of higher output pickups, but the xo handles all of my guitars quite well. It certainly does not look as cool, but it has all the same tone with more functionality.

Regardless, DMM all the way forever.

There will be another digital wonderbox in a year or two. The DMM is forever. Also, simpler tools are pretty cool.
The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents.

I know the XO would probably blow my other delays out of the water, but it's like: say I've always wanted a '72 Camaro (also I don't know dick about cars) and I '02 Camaro pops up for peanuts. I know the '02 is cheaper and probably can go faster and gets better mileage, but the '72 is my lifelong fantasy, so I need to snag one, warts and all. I don't know dick about cars, hence me using years I highly doubt ar sought after.

TL;DR version: my TimeLine was shipped out today. I had great anxiety when I was going to the PO, but felt fine without it when I got home. The PitchFactor is very competent at digital delays so I should be fine replicating my sounds until the DMM shows up!

:!!!:

Also for the headroom thing; Fuck it. I use single coils exclusively so I don't see it as being a problem.

You've done a good thing. The Dmm is a magical beast. So amazing. I hope to never get rid of mine. Sounds like you've got plenty of other delay versatility available. And there's just nothing quite like a real Dmm. You'll be stoked and wrapped in swirly soft analog delay heaven.

Mmmm swirly, analogy, you're tickling me in all the right ways.

I've already got all the setting I "need" to play a set dialed in to the PitchFactor. Hopefully this will give me the inspiration I need to find more fun effects for it, in the meantime, the analog setting on the DD7 is holding me over for "t3h 4mB13nt5"

T minus one week!

i have both of 'em and had to think for a minute, but you'd have no problem getting a timeline again.
