I have a preset on my Empress Tremolo that I use as a clean boost, it does the job.

SS amps they work for slamming other pedals (and then clamping down on level elsewhere in the chain).

I don't like "Clean" boosts or transparent crap. I want something nasty and grungy and ugly, like a Bee Baa boost, or the particular scoop of the Space Echo's pre at gain levels pedals cry at attaining, etc. Have a SHO variant with some germanium something or other on a switch that's magically dirty run into a Quadraverb as well.

But generally, if it ain't an ugly boost, I have no point in having it!

Clean boosts are exceptional after vintage (i.e. EHX) pedals with the "volume drop" and general low-output, simple fuzz circuits...making everything *more-better*

They're pretty great if you're one to ride the volume knob a lot. The transparent ones are boring to me though, I prefer something with a bit of coloration. I usually find that when I do want a completely clean, transparent boost, it means I didn't turn my amp up loud enough.

STFU, you secretly know that clean boosts make everything sound better. Everybody likes things louder, right?

Take one glitchy-ass signal, add a clean boost, enjoy. :wha?:

What happens when you run out of volume knob?

You step on a clean boost.

MRX Micro Amp after an overdrive into a tube amp is great for more gain and makes things feedback really well.

I love the clean boost on the RRR but I don't think I'd buy it as a stand alone pedal.
